UNIX
AND VAX VMS TAPES
We
support two Suse Linux systems for reading and writing UNIX
system and backup tapes in a variety of formats including 'cpio' and 'tar'. By using the LINUX systems for file
restores, the symbolic links can be preserved and the data
can be rewritten to newer media, like AIT, DLT, or Mammoth
Tapes. If you are porting your data to the Windows platform,
we can write CD's or DVD's. If you require magnetic tape, we
can write ARCSERVE, BACKUP EXEC and NTBACKUP
formatted tapes. Over the past few years we have read
over 5,000, 8mm UNIX tapes and have knowledge to read yours.
We
can read and restore your old VAX VMS nine track, TK50,
TK70, TK85, TK86, TZ87, and other data tapes (see supported
media) in various VMS formats like 'VMSBACKUP' and 'VAX
Exchange''. Having restored your files we can sort the files
and write the data to CD's or DVD's. If you require
magnetic tape, we can write PC Windows formats including,
ARCSERVE, BACKUP EXEC, NTBACKUP and UNIX formats like 'cpio' and 'tar'.
Not
only can we restore your 'old' tapes, but we can work with
your data processing professionals to tailor a conversion
package to meet you requirements and deadlines. Because we
are PC based it is very easy for us to reconfigure our
systems to meet your needs.
